Due to the nature of work, students may also encounter challenging experiences such as supporting individuals with chronic illness or age-related conditions, addressing grief and loss, providing palliative care and coping with the passing of those in their care. It is important for prospective students to carefully consider these factors when deciding if this course is right for them.

4. Professional Conduct & Industry Standards

Students must demonstrate:

  • Professionalism, respect, empathy, confidentiality, and effective communication when working with older people, colleagues, families, and supervisors.
  • Compliance with organisational polices and client rights

Failure to meet these expectations may result in removal from placement and impact course progression.

5. Completion Requirements

  • Practical training and vocational placement are mandatory components of the course. Students who are unable to complete these components due to personal, medical, or legal reasons may result in ineligibility for the qualification.

By enrolling in this course, students acknowledge these requirements and accept responsibility for meeting all expectations necessary for successful completion.
